We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are dedicated to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. This means that we ensure that everyone working in our school has successfully completed the necessary clearances to enable them to work with children.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
All safeguarding concerns are passed to members of staff who are specifically trained as “Designated Safeguarding Lead” (DSL) within school.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead Officers in our school are:
Stuart Chatterton (Assistant Headteacher and SENDCO)
Beth Stickland (Deputy Headteacher)
The Safeguarding Governor is: Heather De Silva
Safeguarding is not just about protecting children from deliberate harm. It relates to all aspects of school life.
